Floral tributes and traditional Thang-Ta salutes formed the core of the observance.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-medium wp-image-115589\" src=\"https:\/\/jdnewsvison.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG-20260618-WA0120-289x300.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"289\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/jdnewsvison.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG-20260618-WA0120-289x300.jpg 289w, https:\/\/jdnewsvison.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG-20260618-WA0120-988x1024.jpg 988w, https:\/\/jdnewsvison.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG-20260618-WA0120-768x796.jpg 768w, https:\/\/jdnewsvison.in\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/06\/IMG-20260618-WA0120.jpg 1072w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 289px) 100vw, 289px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>UCM General Secretary Santa Nahakpam, co-convenor of the committee, said the 2001 agitation remains a turning point. He criticized the lack of public disclosure of the CBI probe into the killings and said the case ended without fixing responsibility.<\/p>\n<p>Linking the past to the present, Nahakpam said victims of the violence since May 3, 2023, also await justice. The state\u2019s territorial and administrative integrity, he said, remains non-negotiable.<\/p>\n<p>BJP MLA Khongbantabam Ibomcha Singh said unity is Manipur\u2019s main defense. He paid tribute to the martyrs and argued that national interest must take precedence over other considerations. MLA Sapam Nishikanta called for trust and dialogue between communities to bring back normalcy.<\/p>\n<p>The day commemorates protests against the 2001 extension of the NSCN (IM) ceasefire \u201cwithout territorial limits,\u201d which led to large-scale demonstrations across the state.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>JD NEWS VISION&#8230;..
