IMPHAL, July 12, : :Wide Angle (Social Development Organisation), with support from Child Rights and You (CRY), successfully organized the ‘Know Your Village’ Exposure Tour Programme on Sunday, July 12, 2026. The programme aimed to provide children with an enriching educational experience to foster awareness of Manipur\u2019s rich cultural heritage, biodiversity, and environmental conservation.<\/p>\n

The tour was flagged off by Shri Montu Ahanthem, Secretary, Wide Angle.<\/p>\n

A total of 230 children from 9 villages Hainabok, Ngairangbam Makha, Ngairangbam Awang, Ngairangbam Maning, Tharoijam, Salam, Yurembam Awang, Yurembam Mayai Leikai and Maklang participated in the exposure tour. The children visited Kangla Fort, the Manipur State Museum, and the Manipur Zoological Garden.<\/p>\n

The exposure tour was designed to offer experiential learning opportunities, enabling children to gain first-hand knowledge of Manipur\u2019s history, cultural legacy, wildlife, and natural environment.<\/p>\n

Throughout the visit, the children explored historical landmarks, observed diverse wildlife species, and participated in interactive learning activities that encouraged curiosity, teamwork, leadership, and a deeper appreciation for their cultural and natural heritage. The initiative also sought to strengthen children\u2019s sense of community pride while promoting the importance of preserving the state\u2019s historical and ecological resources.<\/p>\n

The programme forms part of Wide Angle Social Development Organisation\u2019s continued efforts to create meaningful learning experiences beyond the classroom, helping children develop a stronger connection with their surroundings through education and exploration.<\/p>\n
