*Annual Sports Fest Begins with Sporting Fervor*<\/h3>\n

Lucknow, September 18,: : The annual sports festival \u2018Sangathan-2026\u2019 of Amity University Uttar Pradesh, Lucknow Campus, commenced today with the lighting of the sports flame amid Vedic chanting and traditional rituals. The event aims to promote sportsmanship, physical fitness, healthy living and the importance of a healthy body and mind among students.<\/p>\n

A wide range of sporting competitions, including cricket, football, kabaddi, tennis, volleyball, kho-kho and various track events, will be organised as part of the annual sports festival. Sangathan is celebrated across Amity campuses in India every year to mark the birthday of Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Group, as the Founder\u2019s Day celebration.<\/p>\n

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, Pro Vice Chancellor, Amity University Lucknow Campus; Wing Commander (Retd) Dr. Anil Kumar Tiwari, Deputy Pro Vice Chancellor; Dr Rajesh Tiwari, Dean Academics; Dr Rajeev Verma, Dean Student Welfare; along with Heads of Institutions, Heads of Departments and faculty members.<\/p>\n

Welcoming the dignitaries and participating students, Dr Rajeev Verma, Dean Student Welfare, briefed the gathering about the tradition and significance of the Sangathan sports festival.<\/p>\n

The sports competitions were formally inaugurated by Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht, who handed over the sports torch to the participating athletes. The torch was then carried forward by the Heads of various departments of the university before being returned to the Pro Vice Chancellor. He subsequently used the torch to light the sports flame of Sangathan-2026, marking the official commencement of the sporting celebrations.<\/p>\n

The Pro Vice Chancellor also witnessed a vibrant and impressive march-past by the participating students.<\/p>\n

Addressing the students on the occasion, Professor (Dr.) Anil Vashisht said that Sangathan is organised every year not only at Amity University Lucknow Campus but across all Amity University campuses in India to commemorate the birthday of Dr Ashok K. Chauhan, Founder President, Amity Education Group. He stated that Dr Chauhan\u2019s vision and leadership have played a significant role in shaping Amity University into a symbol of excellence.<\/p>\n

He further said that Amity University Lucknow Campus, under the leadership of its Chairman, Dr Aseem Chauhan, continues to move forward on the path of excellence. Describing Sangathan as an event that promotes determination and discipline, Professor Vashisht said, \u201cSangathan is not merely a sports competition; it is an initiative that fosters sportsmanship, a sense of community and belonging, awareness about physical fitness, commitment, discipline, teamwork and courage.\u201d<\/p>\n

He urged all participants to take part in the competitions with dedication, follow the rules and respect their opponents. He added, \u201cWe must remember that trophies and medals remain in our cupboards, but the lessons learned on the field stay with us throughout our lives.\u201d<\/p>\n
