Manipur’s documentary film Battlefield, directed by Borun Thokchom, has been nominated for the International Competition section of the 19th Mumbai International Film Festival (MIFF) 2026.
The film will screen in the feature-length documentary category from June 15–21, 2026, competing with entries from 47 countries. Produced by Manjoy Lourembam, Dr. Radhesyam Oinam, and Viswamithra Universals, the nomination comes after its world premiere at the 56th International Film Festival of India (IFFI).

“This is a proud moment not only for the film but also for the state and the entire film fraternity of Manipur,” said Borun Thokchom.
MIFF, organized by NFDC under the Ministry of I&B, is South Asia’s oldest non-feature film festival. The 2026 edition received a record 1,459 entries and will feature the Golden and Silver Conch Awards with cash prizes of Rs 55 lakh, along with masterclasses, panel discussions, and the Waves Doc Bazaar.
