LUCKNOW: In a shocking incident highlighting the growing audacity of land grabbers, a senior journalist and former Assistant Professor, Dr. Amit Shukla, has been subjected to persistent harassment, criminal trespass, and intimidation by an illegal encroacher claiming links with builder mafias and local musclemen. According to a formal complaint lodged at the Mahanagar Police Station, the accused—Rohit Shukla alias Shailu, son of a deceased former tenant—unlawfully intruded into the victim’s residential premises in Nishatganj on September 9, 2026. The entire act of trespass was caught on high-definition CCTV camera installed outside the residence, capturing the suspect stealthily entering through the boundary gate toward the outer washroom before altering his course upon spotting the surveillance lens.
When questioned by a female family member regarding his unauthorized entry into the private facility, the accused reportedly displayed aggressive behavior and issued explicit threats. Pointing to an unlawful lock he had previously placed on a portion of the house, the suspect brazenly claimed that he would soon take over the entire property. He further bragged about his close ties with notorious builder mafias and local goons, threatening to summon them to forcibly seize the premises. Dr. Shukla, an esteemed academic and media professional, highlighted that this criminal demeanor has subjected his family to severe psychological trauma and created an oppressive atmosphere of insecurity.
The complaint reveals a history of systematic harassment by the land grabber, whose past illegal obstructions on the main staircase had caused immense grief and mental agony, ultimately contributing to the tragic death of Dr. Shukla’s revered mother, late Mithleshwari Shukla—a matter already documented in prior police records. The family expressed serious apprehension that the accused, leveraging his mafia connections and illegal tactics, might plant objectionable items in the washroom or on the premises to frame the respected academician in fabricated criminal cases.
Armed with clear CCTV footage, postal delivery receipts sent to top police officials, and bank settlement proofs, Dr. Amit Shukla has demanded immediate registration of an FIR, strict action against the encroacher, and the removal of all illegal obstructions. The case has sparked concern among local residents and professional circles over the intimidation of a senior media figure and scholar by organized land grabbers in the state capital.
