NINGTHOUKHONG, :September 20: :The Seva Setu Abhiyan under Seva Sankalp Abhiyan organised by BJP Bishnupur Mandal received an overwhelming response at Ningthoukhong on Sunday with 817 people participating, of whom 80% were women.
The programme was held at the residence of Home & Youth Affairs and Sports Minister Govindas Konthoujam in collaboration with the District Medical Office, District Supply Office, Social Welfare, Agriculture and Horticulture Departments, Bishnupur.
A major attraction was the Free Mega Health Camp with consultations in Medicine, Pediatrics, Dermatology, Dental, Diabetology, Surgery, Obs & Gynaecology, Ortho, ENT, Eye and Optometry. Free services included Medicines, ECG, Hemoglobin, Lipid Profile, Kidney Function Test, Liver Function Test, Uric Acid, Diabetic and Blood Tests.
The consultation was scheduled from 8:30 AM to 4:00 PM but due to heavy rush, it continued till 5:15 PM.
The Social Welfare Department also provided wheelchairs and rice to beneficiaries along with assistance under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana, e-KYC updation and other aids.
The Agriculture Department provided knapsack sprayers and free seeds of groundnut, moong, arhar and soybean. The Horticulture Department shared information on MIDH, Per Drop More Crop, PMFBY, RKVY and development of makhana in Manipur.
One participant, L. Phajabi Devi, said the camp is very helpful for rural people who lack money and medical facilities in village areas. She thanked Govindas Konthoujam and wished him good health and great success.
